{"id":857,"date":"2021-04-19T18:56:54","date_gmt":"2021-04-19T22:56:54","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/abfifer.com\/blog\/?p=857"},"modified":"2021-04-19T18:56:54","modified_gmt":"2021-04-19T22:56:54","slug":"liberty-university-conflict","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/abfifer.com\/blog\/2021\/04\/liberty-university-conflict\/","title":{"rendered":"Liberty University Conflict"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>We were sad to see yet another lawsuit between Christians: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2021\/04\/16\/us\/liberty-university-sues-jerry-falwell-jr\/index.html\">Liberty University has sued<\/a> its former president, Jerry Falwell, Jr. After resigning from the presidency last fall, Falwell sued the University for defamation, but he dropped that suit in December; now the University has sued him for breach of contract.<\/p>\n<p>Rather than file these very public lawsuits against one another, these parties could resolve their dispute privately through the<a href=\"https:\/\/www.instituteforchristianconciliation.com\/\"> Institute for Christian Conciliation<\/a>. Many Christian organizations have inserted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.instituteforchristianconciliation.com\/clauses\/\">clauses into their contracts<\/a> &#8212; such as employment contracts &#8212; requiring that parties resolve any dispute privately through Christian conciliation rather than in the courts. This is not only consistent with Scripture (I Corinthians 6:1-7), it can benefit the parties by keeping the process private and possibly leading to reconciliation.
